1988, EventPlan has successfully

international clients. The company has established a solid reputation

The president/owner, Unni
Soelberg-Claridge,
has more than 25 years experience producing conferences and
events, supported by training and work in travel & tourism,
interior design, and hosting & protocol. Unni obtained her
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in
1994 and her Certification in Meeting Management –
Global (CMM) in 1999, the latter confirming her as a “global
meeting- and event strategist”. Unni was the first in
Alberta to obtain the CMM, and at that time was among only 11
in Canada and 116 in the world to hold the designation. In July
2002 Unni was selected by Meeting Professionals International
(MPI) as one of 7 Founding Chancellors – and the only
one from Canada.
Unni’s international
project experience includes 4 years with the 1988 Olympic Winter
Games in Calgary as Chairperson, Hosting; consulting services
to the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France, the
1994 Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway, and the 1994 Summer
Games in Atlanta, USA. She also spent more than 18 months
involved with the Canada EXPO 2005 “bid” Organization
in
the International Relations Department.
Unni has been actively
involved in the Calgary business community
for many years. This includes the Calgary Chamber of Commerce
since 1989 – and serving as a member of its Board of Directors
from 1997 to 2003. Her present engagements include an advisory
committee at the Bissett School of Business,
Mount Royal College, Calgary, and the Board of Directors of
the Calgary Homeless Foundation.
Unni has travelled to
many parts of the world, lived in several countries, and speaks
several languages.

EventPlan’s office
– in the same location since 1990 – is on the western
outskirts of Calgary, about an hour’s drive from
the majestic Rocky Mountains.
